The 100 Property Club were delighted to attend the Lord Taverners minibus handover on the 28th March.  Due to your generosity at our 2016 Christmas dinner, the charity donations we received from members, together with investment by the Lord Taverners, secured the purchase and charity handover of a new minibus to Young Epilelpsy’s School & FE College, St Piers in Lingfield, Surrey. St Piers is a non-maintained special school and college, which cares and educates over 200 students with neurological conditions. Young Epilepsy also operate leading research programmes into epilepsy and provide resources, training and outreach programmes nationally to support the 112,000 young people with epilepsy, their families and education and healthcare professionals.

The specially adapted wheelchair accessible minibus enables schools like St Piers to support their pupils by engaging them in sporting, recreational and vocational activities in their community. Our Chairman, James Lacey, Marl Eshelby, Charity Officer, David Bowen, Dinner Officer, Geoff Davis and John Hammond attended on behalf of the club.  We were greeted by a wonderful introduction by Young Epilepsy CEO Carol Long and the Fundraising Team.  We were also joined by Karl Howman (Buster Briggs, Eastenders star) and Paul Robin, CEO, Lord Taveners.  We presented the ‘key’ and said a few words on behalf of our members as the bus was formally presented to St Piers. For more details of the event, please refer to Lord’s Taverners’ article.

It is always moving and humbling to be part of charity events – all members and their guests of the last dinner should be proud of this achievement in helping us raise the money for this great cause. Thank you once again to the membership and dinner guests for your generosity (guests and colleagues may be interested in receiving a link to this website article).
