Dear Members

I would like to give you all an update on what the Club has been up to over recent months.

The 103rd Dinner in December was one of the best attended in recent years. We were so lucky to have Sir Ranulph Fiennes join us as our guest speaker. Having been professionally speaking almost as long as he has been exploring, he kept the entire room enthralled all evening. Entering into the spirit of raising funds for charity, he donated signed books to the auction, and posed with the highest bidders for photographs which he then signed. By the end of the night, almost £20,000 had been raised for outdoor play equipment for Waverley School in Enfield.

It has been a busy start to the year for the club, with a technical tour in January of the Dakota building in Weybridge. RO is the first company to have secured Fitwel certification for a multi-tenanted building in Europe. The talk on the day given by a Fitwel ambassador was interesting and informative. This easy to apply healthy building measure is quickly gaining traction in the UK and Europe. Thanks to Nick Moore for organising this.

February saw over 30 members of the club and their guests attend Mac & Wild for an evening of socialising, networking, and wild boar shooting. On the lower ground floor three shooting lanes can be found, with state of the art (although not according to some of the poorer shots) virtual shooting systems and replica shotguns.

It was good to see so many of you at the recent 66th Club Lunch at Carluccio’s in Woking, please note the date of our next lunch which will be on Wednesday 5th June at Browns in St Martin’s Lane, followed by the AGM.

More events have been organised and dates fixed – no doubt you saw the recent notice from Richard Dawtrey confirming our 104th dinner will be on Tuesday 10th December, do get the date in your diaries and keep an eye on the events list on the website: https://www.100propertyclub.com/events-list/#!event-list.

The Club Secretary will be sending out membership subscription details for 2019 in early April. Please ensure your subs are paid promptly, the committee has spent too long this year chasing payments. If you are unsure whether you are a full member, or a member in waiting, please do check with committee.

As ever, the membership of our club is growing and evolving. I would like to congratulate three members in waiting who have recently been made up to full membership: Yvonne Ambo of L&G Investment Management, Mike Kershaw of Colliers International and Nick Brown of CALA Homes.

Finally, as numerous chairmen have previously said: this is your Club. The committee strives to deliver a programme that is both enjoyable and beneficial to you. If you have any constructive comments, thoughts or ideas for technical tours, lunches, sporting or other events that we might wish to consider, please do contact me or any other member of the committee.
